Storyline:
In February, 2006, young Luke Abbate accepted a ride home from a fellow student following his high-school team practice. In a severe case of irresponsible and reckless teen-age driving, and over the objections of Luke and the other young passengers, the driver lost control of the car at nearly 90 miles-per-hour, spinning off a narrow road and landing in an embankment some seventy feet below. Luke suffered irreparable brain damage, and died in the hospital two days later - just four days before his sixteenth birthday.

This movie was awful!!! I live near Wake Forest University and celebrated with them the 2006 season and knew the story. This movie portrayal was horrible and amaturish. The music was insipid and dreadfully schmaltzy!! There was little character development and the beginning of the movie when Luke dies is WAY too long and draggily sentimental. I usually like Aidan Quinn as an actor, but he was way over the top as the grieving father. And Andie Mcdowell should haver mailled in her part. All in all, one of the worst movies of the year!! And where was the Wake Forest fight Song???

Make sure you take plenty of tissues. This is a very good movie, and very sad. Good movie to watch with teenagers. Rated PG-13 probably because of the cursing, but it was not so bad. Nothing too harsh. No hot scenes or anything to worry about. Oveall, good family movie.

The transparency of the Abbate family is inspiring to all in times of trouble. Their revelation to the world of their dependency and yet obvious questioning of God is an accurate representation of times of crisis in our lives. Christ tells us, "in the world you will have tribulation" John 16:33 but "I will never leave you or forsake you" Hebrews 13:5. The movie reveals both the tribulations of the world and the sufficiency of God in heartache. Far to many times Christianity is sanitized to the point humans can feel it's impossible to measure up to the standard. Belief in Jesus dying on the cross to have a relationship with man is our only standard. This movie is real life, warts and all, woven with fingerprints of God through their healing as displayed on screen. Proof God never leaves us alone. Jesus is healer and restorer. All teenage drivers should see this movie and understand they are not immortal behind the wheel of a 3,000 lb. car. Lastly, choose life when possible and donate.

After hearing interview with Luke Abbate's Mother on radio, I was looking forward to seeing this movie. It did not live up to my expectations, they dwelled a lot on time after accident and then it seemed disconnected. You were wondering about the parents relationship. I think this movie would be great to show teens that are new to driving or learning to drive to hopefully wake them up about not being invincible and how important their decisions behind the wheel are. I did not feel it flowed very well. I love inspirational movies like this one and The Blind Side, but a world of difference in the flow of the each movie.

I liked the movie pretty good, but it was extremely emotional. My husband and I cried pretty much the whole movie. We have a son with the same name as the boy who died, and I lost my 17 yr. old sister in a car accident 22 yrs. ago. So, it brought back a lot of really bad memories. We went to see the movie, thinking that it was going to be mainly about football. It actually was mainly about their son's death and how the family had a very hard time dealing with it, naturally. It was a very difficult movie for me to watch.
